Diferencias de uso – ANSWER vs REPLY vs RESPONSE

o con el sentido de “solución” a una cuestión.

EXAMPLE:

· A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer.
· Money is not the only answer, but it makes a difference.

– Significa “respuesta” y su uso es más habitual en el lenguaje escrito que en el hablado.

– Tiene el sentido de “contestar” a alguien o algo (respuesta a un anuncio, a una carta, a una llamada telefónica…) y también el de responder a alguien.

EXAMPLE:
· Listen with the intent to understand, not the intent to reply.
· I sent a reply to his letter this afternoon.

– Significa “contestación” (contestar).

– Tiene en general el sentido de “respuesta” como reacción a algo. Su uso es formal y propio del lenguaje escrito.
